Downtown Lighting Ceremony

Get ready for a festive season full of special activities and events every Saturday, beginning with the highly anticipated Downtown Lighting Ceremony! Hosted by the Downtown Association, this magical evening will take place on Saturday, November 30th, at Coleman Hawkins Park in Felix Street Square. Festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. with a holiday music performance by BJ Talley. Then, at around 6 p.m., Santa Claus and Honorable Mayor John Josendale will light up the downtown and launch a dazzling fireworks show to officially start the holiday season. Don’t miss this enchanting night!

Stick around have some hot cocoa and take a FREE picture with Santa, dash through Downtown with a FREE Carriage Ride, get in some holiday shopping with several of our unique downtown shops or visit the exclusive Holiday Pop-Up Shops and the NEW Merry Market in the square, take in the festive downtown holiday windows, and have a great meal or drink in beautiful historic Downtown St. Joseph!

Regardless of the weather, we will have a WHITE lighting ceremony – KSJI – 91.1 FM will be broadcasting live with their snow machine!
