Restoration Church

The Restoration Project is a partnership of individuals and organizations that believe the historic roots of our past point to a vibrant destiny. The project consists of two buildings: The Natatorium (117 Francis) which serves as the home base for Restoration Church – a vibrant, thriving, non-denominational congregation meeting in the former indoor swimming spa dating back to 1897 that is now transformed into a state of the art performance venue. A coffee shop (St. Michael’s Prairie) is due to come online in 2021 serving both citizens and visitors wanting to experience our unique heritage and history. Additional meeting spaces, creative workshops, and a commercial kitchen are planned for the project’s west building (101 Francis) formerly known as the Planter’s House Hotel where Abraham Lincoln frequented in 1859 during his presidential campaign. These structures – two of the oldest buildings remaining in Downtown St. Joseph – represent the heart of Restoration Project’s passion and conviction that celebrating and building upon our rich heritage is the most effective way to position our city to flourish and advance in the future.
